36 Ways of Looking at Mount Rainier

36 original watercolors of Mount Rainier by the artist Tim Ahern, each accompanied by a haiku and explanatory text. Ahern is a native of Seattle and has climbed and sketched the mountain during his time there.

This project takes some of its inspiration from Hokusai's woodblock print series 36 Views of Mount Fuji and Wallace Stevens' poem 13 Ways of Looking at a Blackbird. It is intended to expand the ways of visualizing and appreciating the mountain that dominates much of Washington State's landscape.

These paintings are available in book form, as matte or canvas reproductions, postcards, or coffee mugs.

The book "36 Ways of Looking at Mount Rainier" (see cover art on the left) is currently available on amazon at 36 Ways of Looking at Mount Rainier: Tim Ahern: 9780970224156: Amazon.com: Books
